Library transformation: countertops, shelves, and final details
Phew, this summer has been one for the books! Lots of time making memories has meant the library has taken a bit of a backseat. But today I’m calling the Moody Blue Library done! (For now…there is always more I could do!)
Let’s break down the final steps of this library: countertops, shelves, and the final details!

Library transformation: design details
This week was all about pivots. Between a delayed countertop delivery, poor weather, and a new circular saw to get the hang of, I focused on the design details instead of the countertops, as I had planned. Let’s catch up on some of the finishing details that I worked on to stay on track for the One Room Challenge deadline!

Library transformation: custom side shelves
Week 5 of the One Room Challenge was devoted to the custom side shelves in our Moody Blue Library. These are meant to bring the base cabinets to the end of each wall for a truly built-in look. Plus, they will provide easy-to-access extra storage for my toddler and all her toys.
Library transformation: installing the cabinets
We're halfway through the Spring 2024 One Room Challenge, where I've joined a group of fellow DIYers in transforming a room in eight weeks. This week, the goal was to install the cabinets into our Moody Blue Library. Let's recap!

Library transformation: base cabinets
This week I built the base cabinets for the built-ins in our soon-to-be library. These were RTA (Ready to Assemble) cabinets that I picked up from Lowe’s. Today I’ll run you through how I chose them, my process, as well as their pros and cons.

Library transformation: paint
This week, I painted the soon-to-be library. If you haven’t yet read my inspiration, I am transforming our downstairs office into a moody blue library.

How an office will become a library (inspo!)
I am about to completely transform our office into our very own library and I couldn’t be more excited! Since I legitimately have no cool, let’s get straight to the good stuff…my mood board! This is my source of inspiration for where this room is headed.
